While the other three gospels portray Jesus as the King, the Servant, and the Son of Man, John portrays Jesus as the Son of God. John stated his theme more clearly than any of the other gospel writers.
The dominant theme of this gospel is how God reaches down and lifts us up and thus becomes the gateway to heaven where you’ll see the angels of God. That’s a fascinating image isn’t it?
It’s the same as if you went to a great concert. A concert can be a very humbling experience in the sense that the glory of the instruments and music can so enrapture you that you’re transported and you don’t even think about yourself at all.
The Hebrew word mashiach transliterates into English as messiah.
And that is why the son of Mary (Miriam) who was born in Bethlehem and grew up in the Galilee received the title Yeshua “haMashiach” or in English, Jesus “THE Messiah.”
